[…] A Quilted Regency Spencer Jacket […]
wow!!! i want that ^^
May I enquire as to what you used to buttons? I am in the process of making a evening Regency gown and for the sleeves I would like to have something a little more frilly… The pattern shows three buttons on each sleeve with cord that pulls the sleeve up more to create more of a pouff, but I have been searching for what to use as buttons. I came across one site that said that cloth buttons were period correct but as I look at your Spencer Jacket (Very beautiful I might add!) it looks like just some regular green buttons… Or are they cloth buttons? And what would you suggest?
Thanks!!!
– Faith
Is it possible to use this pattern but not make it quilted? I really like the style but would probably use a different fabric that would look better not quilted. This one’s very pretty, though! :-)
Thanks!

I have been researching Regency period clothing for a project and wondered if you could tell me if ladies every wore jackets during this time that were waist length, as opposed to the Spencer jackets? Maybe a riding jacket? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Nice blog!
