Teacup Patrol! China Used in Pride and Prejudice 2005

November 3, 2009 by Vic

A reader is desperate to find the porcelain set used for this scene in Pride and Prejudice 2005. This was the best image she could pull from the film.

The scene is where Jane and her family discuss whether or not she will be allowed to use the carriage for her travels to dine with Miss Bingley and Mrs. Bennet’s refusal to allow her to do so. Any help you might be able to offer in this matter is highly appreciated.

I don’t recognize it, but it has the look of one of the many Chintz patterns. There were a number of manufacturers of these patterns, and many are made today. I’d suggest doing a search on Replacements Ltd.–Google it. If you can’t find it, send them the photo. They are amazing and I think they can find anything.

Hi. Did you find out what the china was called? I’ve also looked everywhere for it, but can’t find the right one.. Would be forever grateful if someone could help me!

I did google Chintz, but am stuck…

What a lovely photo! Yes, send the picture to Replacements. They will find it. It is a Mecca for china and silver patterns. Plus, they are a dream to work with!

You may want to contact the prop buyer for the movie, I believe her name is Liz Ainley.

Did anyone ever reach Liz Ainley, or find out who made the teacup from Pride and Prejudiced?
    Thanks, Erlinda

No, I tried to find some contact information on Ainley, but gave up… Couldn’t find it anywhere…

Still long to get hold of those lovely cups.. :-)
The film is so great – one of my favourites..
Keira is wonderful and so is Mr Darcy..

Yvonne, I agree on all counts, they are lovely. I’m not ready to give up though for the search. I’ll let you know if I find out anything.
P.S. Thank you for getting back to me
    Cheers, Erlinda
