Curious readers. I present to you a poll. Please vote. Please be honest. Curious minds want to know what American audiences think about this last season!
Click on the choices below to take the poll. You may vote for 3 categories: Season 1 plus Season 2 plus Vic.
I have enjoyed the first two episodes. I find them more interesting than last season and at a faster pace. I am disappointed in Carson,he seems to have more regard for Mary’s feelings than Mrs. Hughes, who he professes to love!
I am pleased with it so far. Sure hope I can stay that way
I’m one of the people who cheated and have seen all of S6, however, I will not spoil it for anyone. I can say that I was not disappointed with any of the episodes…except that I wanted more of them. Like when you’ve eaten the last piece of cake from your favorite bakery and are craving more only to discover they’ve closed. Ah, well. All good things must come to an end.
Part of the experience of watching DA is opening my “inbox” to read Vic’s review after each episode, and all those well-written comments from fellow DA fans.
Thank you, Alicia. Love your insights and compliments.
I’m enjoying it, but I can’t help but feel that the battle over the care available at Downton’s hospital is like Chekhov’s Gun aimed directly at Anna.
Hah!
To the poll commentator who made this remark: “Say what you think for real. What are you blogging for?”
I answer “Yes, Indeed! I blog for myself.”
I want my readers to give me their opinions, but, ultimately, I will post my thoughts on my own blog, snark or not, serious or no, and often with well thought-out researched references.
Take your pick.
Vic, the chameleon.
And that, my friend, is exactly why I have stuck with you for all of the series. It’s your column, after all! You always make me smile and you are always insightful. DA has been a wonderful experience and nothing will replace it anytime soon but it wasn’t perfect in places and that’s what makes for a great discussion and your clever commentary. Live it up…and keep writing!
I enjoyed the first couple of seasons, but after that, like so many TV dramas, it degenerated into high grade soap.
DA is enjoyable tosh, soap opera for the middle classes, but that’s all. I’m surprised that Jane Austen’s World (sic) is noticing it at all when it could instead have been discussing Our Jane’s life and works, see PastNow for inspiration: https://pastnow.wordpress.com/?s=austen&submit=Search
not too impressed I think fellows saves the big stuff nearer the end like a big hit in the face
The first several seasons were excellent, but this last season seems like a TV Daytime Soap. The first episode was actually boring!
What Downton Abbey isn’t: Bey Bey, Tay Tay, GuGu, GaGa, JLo, JLaw, ScarJo, Ice T, Ice Cube, Benifer, Biebs, and those awful awful Kardashians. American television is LOST, truly.
Thank you, LadyO – my sentiments exactly!!!
Loving season 6 so far, I am hoping they will revisit Mary’s love life!
Meh. I’m underwhelmed so far. The clothes are fabulous, though.
