   I’m so glad you can watch the episode online! The PBS channel in our area wasn’t working properly! We couldn’t hear the sound at all!~

   I so loved last night’s episode. It was sad, it was funny, but it was Cranford. If I lived in Victorian England, I would want to live there. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.

   I quite enjoyed the first episode of Return to Cranford. I especially love Miss Poole and the incident with “la cage” for Polly! My parents got sucked in and my dad claims he is dying to watch the rest. He usually goes in for more action.

   I didn’t watch it so I shouldn’t comment.

   But I didn’t watch it because I love, love, love the original and I don’t want any new episodes written – just to savour the old.

   I abosolutely loved Eileen Atkins and Judi Dench in the first episode but resented the extra material (though taken from one of Elizabeth Gaskell’s own short stories).

   Perhaps a masterpiece should be left to shine its own light through the generations.

    I am so dissapointed I missed the first episode of Return to cranford on ABC1 last Sunday, and have missed out seeing it on line. I will now have to wait for the DVD to see it. I will still look at part two this weekend. I just love these period programs.
