Along with Austenprose, this blog is celebrating Georgette Heyer’s 108th birthday on August 16th. Look for Laurel Ann’s interview with me on her blog that day! Her questions were quite challenging.
The recent reviews featured on Laurel Ann’s blog echo some of the reviews that have been published in recent years on this blog. For your enjoyment and in celebration of the Austenprose event, we are reviving some of our favorite Georgette Heyer reviews.
- Georgette Heyer’s Regency World by Jennifer Kloester
- The Talisman Ring
- These Old Shades
- The Convenient Marriage

I really want to get into reading these as they look like such fun, and I understand her level of detail is so exact that she’s considered an authority and that her version of the Battle of Waterloo is taught at some universities (?). I think I heard that on NPR. These look like much more fun than Richardson’s Pamela, which is just not my cup of tree so I’ve been avoiding my project for a month now because I can’t seem to decide to drop the book! Why is it so hard to drop a book if it isn’t working? I think I need to move on to Sir Thomas Grandison instead….
I am LOVING this blog. I am a Jane Austen fanatic, so it is always fun to find likeminded people :) I’ve started a reading challenge on my blog centered around Jane Austen, and there will be giveaways and linkups involved as well. If you are interested, you should check it out.
Here is the link to the challenge… http://thebookbuff.blogspot.com/p/jane-austen-is-my-homegirl-reading.html

Ever since I read The Convenient Marriage I have been hooked on Georgette Heyer. I cannot wait for your interview with Austenprose. Thanks for the links. I have read about 8 Georgette Heyer Regency romances. I wonder which ones you reviewed!
