Georgian Doorways of Rodney Street, Liverpool
Memoirs of the Celebrated Mrs. Woffington is a fascinating blog that offers insights about the 18th century. The blog’s author, who lives in England, has been featuring Georgian Liverpool in a series of posts. Click on the following links to read: Part 1, Part 2 , Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5.

Thanks so much Vic for the kind mention! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it – it was a bit of a crazy idea, but we had so much fun going around Liverpool with the 1797 guide book. By coincidence, I’ve just loaded up Part 5 today.
I’ve made the change and added the link, Mrs. Woff! From your images, it looks warmer in Merry Olde England than in Virginia, land of the dogwood and magnolia blossom.
We’ve gone a bit soft in England, since our winters have been mild for years – not like you hardy Virginians :)
Hi,
I’m am a student at Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, USA. We are performing a show this spring called An Experiment With an Air Pump. It is based in Newcastle, England and takes place in 1799/1999. Georgian architecture was at its peak at this time, I need to know what INTERIOR doors looked like, if they had them at all. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt Sleeper
